Dünya genelinde su kaynakları hızla azalırken, yağmur suyu toplama ve arıtma sistemleri, bu sorunun çözümünde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Türkiye’de kişi başına düşen su miktarının 1.1550 m³/yıl olduğu ve 2030 yılında nüfusun 100 milyona çıkacağı öngörülünce, bu rakamın 1.000 m³/yıla düşmesi beklenmektedir. Bu durum, ülkemizin su fakiri ülkeler arasına katılmasına neden olabilir. Yağmur suyu toplama sistemleri, çevresel sürdürülebilirlik ve ekonomik kazanç sağlamak amacıyla etkin bir yöntem sunar.
